Smooth Transitions

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion invites all incoming students to apply for Smooth Transitions! Smooth Transitions is a pre-welcome weekend diversity leadership program, designed to support the introduction, matriculation, and retention of underrepresented student populations to Capital University. This program is open to all, and intentionally designs social and educational programming that spans across diverse topics and education. Smooth Transitions aims to help students to create a foundation of community and resources before the rush of the start of the semester while expanding their identity-based knowledge. The incoming students are all gifted with upper class student mentors to help show them the ropes and create a welcoming environment for them. This mentor relationship lasts throughout the academic year and includes regular check ins with students.
